Ready… Set… Seed!

Winter has really been a time for me to binge all the flower farming knowledge a my brain can handle. Its been a little overwhelming learning about the amazing world of soil biology, seed starting and running a successful farm. I am going to try to take time each week to post on this page to share little snippets about the new methods I will be incorporating into my farm this year.

If you are new to farming or just want to up your home garden game, your first step should be soil testing.

There are a lot of different tests out there. I knew I needed something that was easy for my “non-scientist” mind to absorb and understand. I went on amazon and purchased the MySoil - Soil Test Kit 4 Pack . The results are so easy to read and they give your recommendations to fix any problem areas in your soil biology. I tested the three different large fields in my front yard and my back yard retaining wall bed. It took six days to get my results back.

As I prep my fields for planting, I know exactly what to add to the soil to help my baby plants flourish into big blooming rock stars. Go get you a soil test my farming friends!
