This season has been full of growth for Blooming House. There are only a few weeks left of the growing season for 2023. Once that first frost hits, I will begin prepping beds for next year. If you are interested in working together for Summer 2024 please message me.

The Summer 2024 flower farm will focus on adding more varieties of flowers that are beautiful both fresh and dried. I will be spending the winter months exploring ways to dry and display these natural beauties and how to turn something so fleeting into everlasting art.

Dried Flower Bouquets now at Dorothy Lane Market 

I’m so happy to announce that Blooming House will have a dried bouquet section in Dorothy Lane Market starting October 6th, 2023.

I will also be offering a Dried Arrangement Class on November 6th from 5-7 pm at the Dorothy Lane Culinary Center. We will be making a large Thanksgiving-inspired centerpiece. Class is for any experience level and great for anyone age 8 and up. We will have wine and pizza and I’ll be providing a large selection of the most beautiful dried naturals for you to choose from.

Fresh or dry never die

Summer 2024 will have a new focus on expanding the dried naturals that have always been a staple for Blooming House. I will be growing fresh stems that have the longest vase life and can actually dry out in their vase and still look beautiful.

When I began my journey in floral design and flower farming, I thought I had to offer the same varieties the surrounding farms were growing. I spent so much time trying to fit into the existing flower world instead of focusing on the one thing that was making my bouquets unique from the start. Dried naturals and everlasting flowers will be my main focus for next summer.

I’ve been dancing around the idea of making living in the beautiful world of flowers for years now. The opportunity came last spring after my family moved into our home in Dayton, Ohio. This house was special to us because it sits between my childhood home and my husbands childhood home. As teens at Bellbrook High School, we passed that little bridge with the hidden house on the hill a million times. Little did we know that spot would one day become our little slice of heaven and the perfect place to raise our family and launch our farm dream. The flower field is located in our front yard right as you cross over the bridge. It currently takes up 1/2 an acre and is growing each year!

November 30th: Ignite the Season Craft Fair from 6pm-9pm at Ignite Yoga Studio- 669 Miamisburg Centerville Rd

December 9th: Wreath Making Class at Dorothy Lane Market in Centerville at 10am. Must purchase a ticket to attend on the DLM website.
